This workshop will cover key considerations for an adolescent ballet dancer, including the impact of maturation on physical development, the importance of maturation on bone health and potential injury risk factors. We will also consider monitoring and recovery to minimise the associated injury risk factors, with some nutritional guidance and tips to support bone health. 

About Sophie: Sophie is a Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Royal Ballet School, specialising in rehabilitation. Sophie danced at Welland School of Dancing, practising ballet, tap, modern and hip-hop. She studied at Sheffield Hallam University to achieve a First Class undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science, and a masters degree in Strength and Conditioning Coaching with Distinction. She has ample experience coaching world class athletes, including GB swimming (including coaching athletes to the 2020 Olympics), GB boxing, GB wheelchair basketball, GB para table tennis and GB para-badminton. She also lectures on the Sport and Exercise Science degree at University Centre Peterborough.
