It is a fun, fast paced, total body workout where individuals sweat and burn calories in addition to sculpting and toning their bodies. Classes begin with a short invigorating warm up, after which the upper body is challenged using light-weights to target the shoulders, biceps, triceps and upper back muscles. During the barre section students challenge their balance, coordination, strength and flexibility. The class finishes by concentrating on the core with a series of abdominal exercises performed on the floor.
We offer exercises that can be modified for beginners or clients with injuries, but that can also be amplified for advanced clients that are looking for that extra challenge. Experience in classical ballet is not required for Xtend Barre. Classes are just turn up and pay by the class (£8). Normal workout attire should be worn and grippy socks or ballet shoes/jazz pumps. The official Xtend Barre grippy socks are sold at the studio but any type would do. For greater results we would recomend at least 2 lessons per week, as a combination of any other adult class and Xtend barre class or multiple Xtend Barre classes.
